Railway Enquiry is an official communication department maintained by the Indian Railways. You can use the services to check the arrival/ departure time of your Indian Railway train.




You can check the status of your train by using following services provided by railway enquiry:
1. 131 Railway Enquiry from land line phones - All you need to do is dial 131 and you will be connected to an Interactive Voice Response System which will tell you about the status of your train/ reservation confirmation or changes if any.
2. SMS based Railway Enquiry - many telephone service provider now days offer railway enquiry via sending an SMS


3. Several Banks have also launched a notification system on their ATMs where travellers can check the statuses of their trains/ reservations.

WWW.IRCTC.CO.IN is the official Railway Ticket Reservation site of the Indian Railways. Now for those of you who have to book your ticket, make a railway enquiry or just check up on the trains, here is a guide that would help you working your way on WWW.IRCTC.CO.IN.
  1. Register as an individual. Registration is FREE.
  2. Login by entering your user name and password.
  3. The”Plan my travel and Book ticket”page appears.
  4. Use “HELP”option for any help required to book tickets.
  5. Select your train from the list that appears on the screen.
  6. If the From/To station selected by you are correctly in the route of the train then : Select i-Ticket option.
